Kobe University established its Office for Promoting SDGs in February 2020 to help achieve the SDGs. The office seeks to connect “knowledge” and “human” assets in academia to meet the challenges of SDGs by promoting innovation through interdisciplinary co-creation and initiatives that capitalize on human strengths. The office shares SDG-related ideas with the community and industry and works with them, extensively publicizing their efforts at home and abroad.
In 2012, JCS became the first company in Japan to get ISO 20121 certified (Event Sustainability Certification). JCS is committed to offering Sustainable Conventions®︎*, which consider environmental, social, and economic sustainability to add value to events and contribute to society.
Through an industry–academia partnership, Kobe University, with its interdisciplinary co-creation approach, and JCS, with its focus on Sustainable Conventions®︎, will harness each other’s strengths, expertise, and resources to solve social issues and pursue the value of sustainability to create new value and innovation toward Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
